Summer evening outfit

Warm evenings and long summer nights are bliss. One of my favourite things about Summer. I first put this outfit together in Spain but didn't take a photo so while on my photoshoot with Rachel I put it together again and photographed it.

The dress is my usual style: collar, frilly, floral kind of thing. Styles with a load of missmatched rings, bracelets, one of my Teanga na mBláth necklaces and these chunky black wedged sandals which I picked up recently.

Dress ~  New Look
Necklace ~ Teanga na mBláth
Earrings ~ Penneys/Primark
Rings ~ H&M and Penneys/Primark
Bracelet ~ Claires
Shoes ~ Penneys/Primark

This post is going to be going up while I am on a ferry half way across the Irish sea to England for my annual trip to the UK for family/friends/etc.I will still be posting regularly as I have access to wifi and my laptop. Can't wait to share everything!

(Also I have decided to stop with the "Thanks for reading" things after every post because it is getting annoying so now it will probably keep changing)

Love,

July Favourites

August is nearly upon us and I can't believe how fast these last two months have gone by. I love having long Irish summer holidays but I never want them to end. Today I'm running through my July favourites and current favourites including a few items from the Cork Meetup.

The first thing are these t-bar geek shoes from Penneys (Primark). These are my favourite things ever right now, they are absolutely gorgeous! They were only €13 which is definitely not bad for a pair of shoes which were double in other shops. They give such an old school girl look which I am loving at the moment and I'm considering buying another pair in black. As you can probably tell I get very passionate about shoes sometimes.

Next is this three piece necklace, also from Penneys (Primark). Recently I have been trying to wear more jewellery and I just love this! It looks great with most tops and I really like the tarnished silver look.

Again I have been trying to wear more rings and found these on sale in H&M in Spain. They are simple Rose Gold flat rings that are all different widths. They aren't midi rings but I can wear them as midi rings on some fingers.

Moving on to beauty, I recently bought these two eye-shadow brushes from E.l.f. I don't own many eye brushes so I end up using the same one to apply and blend many different colours. I bought the E.l.f professional Defining Eye Brush and Blending Eye Brush. They are really nice quality and are great when your on a budget.

At the Cork Meetup, I was given the "King of Skin" body butter* in Lush and now I know why it is so raved about. It is so luxurious! My skin is so soft after using it. I will definitely be repurchasing it.

I love red lips. Red lips are great for people like me who have paper white skin. I got my hands of the Gosh Lip Lacquer in "Dangerous Lips"* at the Cork meetup and have loved wearing it since. It's quite similar to the Rimmel Apocalips. I also love the adorable packaging.

I have talked about MAC's "Chatterbox" multiple times but I have loved it so I will included it anyway. If you want to read my other post about it click here.

And last in my July favourites it the one and only Urban Decay Naked 3. I also got this at the Cork Meetup with my €50 Debenhams Voucher* which Debenhams kindly gave us. I absolutely adore this. My favourite colours are "Dust", "Liar" and "Factory".

Thanks for reading!

OOTD: Preppy school girl

When someone asks me to describe my style I have no idea what to say. It changes daily. This outfit is following a kind of preppy layered school girl look. I adore the shoes. I have been on a lookout for shoes like this for ages and I found these in Penneys! Pretty much the whole outfit is from Penneys.

I've had the dress for years but haven't worn it in a while because one of the straps had broken but nothing a quick few stitches couldn't fix! I styled it with a cropped collared shirt from Pimkie in Spain.

Frilly socks are an essential.

Thanks for reading! I am also off to England next week for three weeks so expect a few exciting posts. I'm have a load of things planned (Including going to Summer in the City and the Harry Potter studio tour). Thanks to Rachel for the pictures.

Spain Haul

Time for my long awaited haul from Spain! I didn't actually buy that much while in Spain. Most my money was spent on food. I also bought a few presents for people but I didn't include them in this haul. I did include 2 items from a quick look in the shops in Dublin on the way home.

Starting with Duty-free on the way there I bought a MAC lipstick in "Chatterbox". I wrote about this in detail here.

There was one day in Spain where we just browsed the shops and I bought a few items. These shorts are from Bershka and were around €14/15. They are so comfortable and I love the acid denim.

I also got this bag in Bershka. I was so happy with it as it's really good quality and €17.95 is not bat for a bag. I have been dying for a satchel like this for ages.

Next I went into a shop called Pimkie and bought this cropped shirt in the sales for €6.95!

I bought these rings from H&M as well as some earrings for my sister.

I also got two postcards for my wall. The first one was from Cuenca and the second was from our day in Madrid.

We arrived back to Dublin late on Tuesday so we stayed the night and went for a quick trip to Dundrum Shopping centre. I could have gotten very carried away in the Topshop sales but only bought this dress for €12.

I have been on the lookout for shoes like this for ages! I saw a pair in the Topshop sale but they weren't in my size (gutted whenever this happens) so I was going to buy some nice ones I once found on Ebay until I found these in Penneys! I've forgotten how much they were but I think they were around the €13 mark which was a fair bit less than the Topshop ones even in the sale.

I have so many outfits ready with all my new bits and pieces and I can't wait to put then up! Thanks for reading, I still don't have my broken camera back so some posts will be a bit delayed for the time being. I was able to borrow my friends camera for the sake of some of my outfit posts (and this one) but the rest will be with rubbish iPad quality for now.

If I were heading to a festival

Recently I did a fashion photoshoot with my friend Rachel. One of my outfits was festival style outfit. It is very cliche with the flowercrown and kimono. Unfortunately I am not going to a music festival this year (insert sad face). Also If I were going to a festival I would probably put on wellies for the sake of my shoes and I would also make more of an effort with makeup or facepaint, I just went for blue eyeliner and used a while eye-pencil to draw a pattern on my face.

I picked up these shorts in Spain from Bershka and the Kimono is from New Look.

Socks ~ Penneys/Primark

Rose Gold Rings ~ H&M
Other ring ~ Penneys/Primark

Hope you enjoyed this fashion post, they are my favourite kind of posts to do! Also a big thanks again to Rachel for taking the pictures. Thanks for reading!

Spain day 5 & OOTD

This is going to be an extra Saturday post as I have a lot of posts and not enough days in the week to put them up. So here is Spain day 5! We spent the morning walking up to old Cuenca and seeing the incredible views. The downside was dying from the sweltering midday sun. We also went back to the science museum to go on this crazy space-ship simulator thing. The afternoon was spent eating delicious home-made Paella, sleeping for Siesta and sunbathing by the pool. We also went out for Tapas and Crepes in the evening.

Kimono ~ New Look
Top ~ Topshop
Necklace ~ Penneys/Primark
Shorts ~ Bershka
Bag ~ Bershka

Nail polish collection and DIY Storage

I always find it interesting seeing what nail polishes people have and how they store so I'm here today showing you all what I have and how I store them on this tiered stand which I made my self.
I'll start with the stand. Not all my nail polishes actually fit on the stand so I keep the rest in an empty Glossybox.

To make this nail polish stand you will need:
~ A few old hard back covers or strong cardboard
~ Pretty wrapping paper or fabric
~ Ribbon + Buttons for decor
~ Glue gun
~ Scissors
~ Cellotape or PVA Glue for wrapping paper

It's pretty simple to make. Cut the card board into the shape of the sides, back, bottom and platforms and glue together. Cover in fabric or paper and decorate! I found this lovely wrapping paper and ribbon in Ikea. It's also a great was to use up old hard back covers, I managed to gather loads of them from school.

Now onto my collection. It isn't huge, I only really started wearing nail polishes last year as I bite my nails (It's a terrible habit!) but wearing nail polish stops me from biting them. Since I took these photos my nail polish collection has grown by 5 thanks to the Cork blogger meetup. I also didn't include some really horrible old ones I have lying about in the bottom of my Glossybox.

I have 14 Elf Nail Polishes.  They are part of the 14-Piece Cube in "Brights". I tend to wear the subtler shades more often than the really bright ones.

Starting from left to right:
1. Elf "Skinny Jeans"
2. Elf "Mint Cream"
3. Elf "Smokin Hot"
4. Elf "Mango Madness"
5. Elf "Sunflower"

6. Elf "Lavender Mist"
7. Elf "Nude"
8. Elf "Metallic Elegance"
9. Elf "Flirty Fuchsia "
10. Elf "Electric Fuchsia"

These glitter ones don't really show up on their own on nails so I put them over the colours from the previous ones.
11. Elf "Fairy Dust"
12. Elf "Dream Maker"
13. Elf "Chic Confetti"
14. Elf "Gold Star"

I love Barry M Nail polishes! I especially love my two Gelly nail paints. And Berry Cosmo is my favourite Autumn/Winter shade (Please excuse the nail glue on this one).

15. Barry M "Berry Cosmo"
16. Barry M Gelly Nails in "Prickly Pear"
17. Barry M Gelly Nails in "Greenberry"
18. Barry M "Teal"
19. Barry M "Foil Effects"

I can never get over the packaging of Topshop nails, pastel AND polkadot, my life is complete! "Barefoot" is a gorgeous nude, "Little White Lie" is a textured white which makes any colour look pastel (In the picture I have it over barefoot on the first one and on it's own on the second nail) and "Hat Trick" is the perfect festive colour for St. Patricks day!

20. Topshop "Barefoot"
21. Topshop "Little White lie"
22. Topshop " Hat Trick"

Onto Essence. I've had these three for a while now but I don't wear them much anymore as the formula has gone a bit gloopy but I love the pastel colours!

23. Essence Me and My Ice-cream (I'm not sure on the exact shade)
24. Essence Nude Glam in "Peach and Cream"
25. Essence Colour and Go in "That's what I mint"

I have two Bourjois and two Natural Collection nails so I put them together.

26. Bourjois "Beige Glamour"
27. Bourjois "Rouge Escarpin"
28. Natural Collection "Antique Coral"
29. Natural Collection "Champagne"

Here are the miscellaneous polishes that I only have one of.

30. Tanya Burr "Little Duck"
31. Rimmel 60 Seconds "Instyle Coral"
32. L'Oreal Colour Riche "Rouge Pin Up"
33. Orly "Hair Band"

Thanks for reading! I hope this has given someone some inspiration. Thanks to my sister for letting me use her nails (Mine are too short).
